Care Guide

Although caring for your plants in our vases is super simple, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure their long and happy life:

Place your MiMOKO wall vases in a bright location, out of direct sunlight. Some plants however will tolerate low light conditions, see below.
A large variety of plant cuttings will grow roots and enjoy a long life growing in water. To keep these cuttings fresh, we recommend changing the water every week.
For all other plant materials, change the water every 2-3 days.
Periodically clean your vases with soap and hot water.
Optional: add a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide per 8oz water to prevent microbes.

Installation

We recommend assembling your MiMOKO vases and testing your desired layout on the floor before installing on the wall. Remember to account for the space your greenery will need.

To hang with nails:

Hammer your nail into the wall at a 45 degree angle.
As these ceramics are lightweight, you do not need to find a wall stud.
Fill your vase with water, style with fresh greens and hang on the wall.
MiMOKO provides galvanized nails that will not rust with water contact.

To hang with velcro strips:

With your alcohol wipe, clean the area on the wall you wish to hang your MiMOKO vases. If you have freshly painted your walls, wait at least 7 days until using velcro strips.
Remove the rear liner of the velcro strip and position your ceramic piece onto the wall.
Press firmly for 30 seconds.
Gently take the ceramic off the wall, peeling it rather than pulling it off and press firmly on each of the strips for another 30 seconds to ensure a good adhesion.
Wait approximately one hour for the adhesive to fully set.
Fill your vase with water, style with fresh greens and hang on the wall.

Plant Guide

MiMOKO’s new collection is centered around styling with plants hydroponically.

Hydroponics is a technique of growing plants in water eliminating the need for soil. Simply take a cutting of a suitable plant and let it propagate, ie. grow its own roots and become its own plant. Never do you have to worry about over or under watering them again! It could quite possibly be the easiest way to look after plants and is perfect for those who travel a lot or who just lead very busy lives.

Before you make your cutting, make sure you have clean, sharp scissors and cut just underneath the root node. This node is where roots will eventually grow from, a sign that your plant is on its way to enjoying a happy life living in water.

Be sure to refresh the water every week to help prevent natural bacterial build up.

Other plant materials

MiMOKO’s wall vases are also well suited for any foliage or flowers that don’t root. We prefer using fresh foliage for its longevity, usually lasting several weeks before turning. Flowers will look gorgeous but will need to be replaced every week. The water will need changing more frequently with flowers and foliage to prevent bacterial build up, every 2-3 days.

Dried flowers are a great option if no maintenance is desired.
